Stone and Bone Tools- June
Around the time the serviceberries will begin to darken and provide their sugary goodness, students will gather to learn the skill of stone breaking (flint knapping) and how to shape bone for tools.
Our hominid ancestors have been using stone and bone tools to survive and live for over 3 million years. Our hands, minds, and hearts have been shaped as they are because of our use of tools. This skill is by far the most intense and difficult to learn, and in that way the ancestors demand that only the most dedicated and committed will learn the language of the rocks.
